Treat your students to an exclusive tour of our ancient caverns. They'll marvel at our amazing rock formations and hear fascinating facts from one of our experienced guides.

History and science trips for schools across Yorkshire and beyond

Educational film

The field trip begins with a fun, informative film about the caves in our 4K cinema. The film introduces students to the history of the caverns as well as key geological information.

Guided cave tour

Pupils then take a tour of the caves, guided by one of our experienced educators. Descending the 65 steps is like emerging into another world. As they explore, they'll learn about the incredible natural formations of the caves – from stalagmites and stalactites to mesmerising rimstone pools.

We also provide materials for a fun fossil quiz to test students' knowledge.

Lunch

Time for lunch? Pupils can head back to our cinema to fuel up and chat about the amazing sights they've seen.

Interactive activity

Finally, at a time to suit you, you'll join Cavewoman or one of her helpers for an interactive activity session. For your pupils, it's pure, hands-on fun – but with plenty of opportunities for KS2-aligned learning along the way.

Fossil Discovery Dig

Kids get hands-on with real fossil artefacts – including a megalodon tooth! Then they'll have fun rooting around for ancient treasures as they conduct their own 'archaeological dig'.

Stone Age Wonders

A time capsule stuffed with Stone Age facts and activities. Pupils can try their hands at Stone Age rope-making and discover what life was really like in prehistoric times.

Cosmic Adventures

Blast off to Planet Fun with an action-packed session of cosmic activities. Students learn fascinating facts about the solar system, get a crash course in constellation spotting and more.
